This group is for
Teen girls who are thoughtful, sensitive, creative, or feeling the pressure of growing up in a fast-paced, image-driven world. Many participants struggle with self-esteem, boundaries, anxiety, people-pleasing, or feeling disconnected from themselves and others.
This is an in-person group - a space to slow down, reflect, connect, and build real-world relational skills without screens.
Note: This group is designed for teen girls, including trans girls and teens who identify with a feminine-centered experience. Questions about fit and identity are welcomed during the application process.
Teens in this group will
Build healthy self-esteem and a more compassionate self-image
Strengthen emotional resilience and self-trust
Practice clear boundaries and authentic communication
Develop tools for navigating friendships, school stress, and social pressure
Feel less alone through meaningful peer connection
Explore identity in a supportive, non-judgmental environment
The group is designed to be soul-nourishing, grounding, and empowering, while offering concrete skills teens can use in daily life.

Item description
-
Yes. Many teens participate in group therapy alongside individual therapy. With consent, coordination with your teen’s individual therapist is welcome.
-
That’s very common. Teens are never pressured to share before they’re ready. The group is facilitated with care and attention to pacing, boundaries, and emotional safety.
-
As a licensed therapist, I monitor group dynamics closely and respond clinically if strong emotions or safety concerns arise. Parents will be contacted if there are concerns related to safety.
-
To support presence and connection, phones are not used during group sessions. Teens are encouraged to unplug while in the space.
-
An initial phone call or consultation is required before joining the group to ensure it’s an appropriate fit for your teen and the group as a whole.
-
While regular attendance is encouraged, I understand that life happens. Teens can make up missed sessions by practicing skills independently, and session notes may be shared with parents as appropriate.
-
Yes. Confidentiality is respected within the group. Teens are encouraged not to share what other participants say outside the group, and facilitators maintain professional confidentiality in line with ethical standards. Safety concerns (self-harm, abuse, or threats to others) are exceptions and will be communicated to parents as needed.
-
Parents receive general updates about the structure and goals of the group. Specific details about what individual teens share are confidential, unless there are safety concerns.
-
The group meets in-person in Brooklyn Heights at 26 Court Street in a calm, supportive, and welcoming group office room.
-
Parents and/or teen complete a short online application to help ensure the group is a good fit. Once the application is reviewed and your teen is accepted, you’ll receive a confirmation email with payment instructions to secure their spot. Accepted participants will also complete a brief intake form through our secure therapy software (Theranest) before the first session.
